Last Night 4 Soldiers Died
© Frank Dalton

F161st:

No one saw the eagle hunting high up in the sky

But it looked down and thought it saw the prey upon the ground

And its attack was swift and sure in the twinkle of a star

Four soldiers lay dying in a field near Kandahar

2nd:

Four soldiers from the Princess Patricia's Light Infantry

While I lay sleeping safely in my bed

They stood on guard for me

They died so I may keep the right to live in truth and liberty

Onward Christian soldiers, hold fast their memory.

3rd:

Now there is no explaination, perhaps it's meant to be. God's army needed four good men, and that's their destiny

As for me I'll greive for thee, and in my sorrow hide. And remember where I was, the night four soldiers died.
